Island Offshore Management has won a contract worth just over NOK 1.5 billion, including options, for delivering light well intervention services.

Due to come into force on the 1st of April 2006, this agreement relates to annual campaigns of at least 150 days each over a six years period.

The Island Frontier will be used in 2006-07, with the Island Wellserver newbuilding due to take over the service from the 1st of April 2008.

This contract is won in close cooperation with Island Offshore Managements alliance partners, FMC and Aker Kvaerner Maritime Well Service AS

Island Frontier: Excavation job at Ormen Lange

Island Frontier is into the 5th. month of excavation work for PSL at the Ormen Lange pipe lines.

The excavation is done by pumping high pressure seawater through drill pipe down to the excavation equipment at the sea bed. The deepest trenches have been made at 850 m water depth. For this job, the vessel has been outfitted with automated drill pipe handling system.

Island Offshore has ordered an UT 776 E with the Aker Yards Group.

This is the second UT 776 E Island Offshore has ordered in short time. The hull will be built at Aker Braila, Romania, and the vessel to be outfitted at Aker Brevik. This is the 16th contract between Island Offshore and Aker Yards.

Island Offshore has ordered an UT 755 LN with the Aker Yards Group. This is the 5th UT 755 L Island Offshore has ordered at Aker Brevik in the last 2 years. The hull to be built in Romania, and outfitted at Aker Brevik. This is the 17 th Contract between Island Offshore and Aker Yards. The vessel will be delivered September 2007.

New contract 03.05.06

Island Offshore has entered into a contract with the Large Platform Supply vessel Island Champion. The duration of the contract is 5 years firm + 5 yearly options. The Island Champion is the first vessel of the UT 776 E design being built, and the Owners have high expectations for the vessel. The Island Patriot will be used as a front runner and commence her contract shortly after present pipe haul contract with Saipem at Qatar. Island Patriot will be relieved by the Island Champion in January 07.

Island Offshore has received a Letter of Intent from Statoil for the hire of a large platform supply vessel.

This award involves the use of Island Patriot as a frontrunner. The new build vessel Island Challenger will relive Island Patriot and commence its 3 years firm contract upon delivery from yard.

This contract proves Island Offshore’s position in the market and will strengthen our long term relationship with Statoil.

Island Offshore has signed a contract with Aker Yards for the construction of a UT 776 CD Large platform supply vessel. The vessel will be constructed according to DNV with class CLEAN DESIGN, and is scheduled for delivery in March 2009.

Further Aker Yards and Island Offshore has entered into an agreement to deliver a 
UT 712 L anchor handling tug supply vessel due for delivery in September 08.

The Hulls for the vessels will be built in Romania and outfitted at Aker Yards, Brevik

First SUT given to a Well Intervention Unit 31.10.06

Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has given a SUT (samsvarsuttalelse) for our Well Intervention Unit Island Frontier, which is operated by Island Offshore Subsea AS.

The SUT was handed over to Sissel Haugen (QHSE Manager IOSS) by Director general Magne Ognedal.



Aker Yards has signed a contract with Island Offshore in Ulsteinvik, Norway to deliver one UT 776 CD Platform supply vessel. The total value of the contract is approximately NOK 315 million.  

Normand Rover - change of Management


From 1st of March 2006 Island Offshore Management took over from Solstad Shipping, the management of Normand Rover- UT 745. Normand Rover is currently operating in the Gulf of Mexico as a subsea construction vessel.

BP Awards contract for well intervention services to Island Offshore 21.12.06

Island Offshore has been awarded a contract by BP for provision of complete Riser Less Well Intervention (RLWI) services for the North Sea, including West of Shetlands.

The contract duration is for three years with two one year options and guarantees 90 working days per year with an option to extend the yearly work schedule an additional 50 days.

This contract provides the basic employment of Island Constructor on the UK side of the North Sea.

With this contract Island Offshore is the leading supplier of Well Intervention Services in the World.

In this contract Island Offshore will work together with the already established alliance, FMC Technologies and Aker Kværner Well Service.
